Rangoli pattern

A rangoli pattern is a colorful pattern made of sand. Diwali is pronounced div-ali just in case you didn't know that. I really enjoyed that I could make it myself I didn't have to copy a rangoli pattern that was already made. Today we have done writing and for writing, we did some poetry. An epitaph poem is a made up poem about someone that dies but thankfully it is not true unless you want it to be true. For the last 2 weeks, we did a few things on Paralympics. The paralympics is when a person with a missing body part can do Olympics but it is harder and a lot more fear because every body else that they vs has a missing body part as well

Octopus Writing.

An octopus has 8 arms to catch enough food and move around. An octopus has suction on its legs called suckers and they help octopods to move around. The octopus has a brain in every leg and 3 brains in its head.

The life cycle of an octopus.

The life cycle of an octopus comes from an egg and then it turns into a larva which is a young/baby octopus, next is a juvenile which is like a teenage octopus, and last is the adult. All octopods are the same but in their different ways eg: they move around the same, and they have the same shaped body but some are smaller than others.

What are their habitats?

The octopus habitat is anywhere around the world but their main habitat is in marine coastal waters. A lot of other octopods live in their dens which are around the US and other places near that so like I said before all around the WORLD.

The food chain of an octopus.

octopods feed on clams, fish, and even other octopods like themselves which is called a cannibal. crustacean is a dried-up food that octopods feed on. crustacean is the main food that they eat but it is not the most common for them because they live in the ocean and crustacean is dried up food.

The species of an octopus.

The species is an animal but in different styles than the other, that has the same name. The Atlantic pygmy octopus is a rare and very fascinating octopus to research but we haven't been able to research it in time because we had to pick a few species but we only got one in time.

Hi, my name is Curtis and I have written so that you can learn about octopods which is an octopus but a group of them. The 10 great walks of NZ.

 

Today I and my class did a quiz and then we had to discover one of the quiz questions and the quiz question that we had to do was what are the 10 great walks of New Zealand and if you are into hiking then this slide and these walks would be very helpful for you. I liked that we were allowed to research because otherwise, I would have no clue what to do. Something else that I liked was that I worked my best to get it done and I got it done so I am happy. I  didn't like that it took me so long just to do what I did. I hope you enjoy the slide or did enjoy it. I hope you like these walks and manage to do sometime if you are into this sort of stuff.

Word of the week.

 

Today we have been doing the word of the week this week's word of the week is resilience this is what I found out I hope that it is right but nobody is perfect so no biggy if it is. I liked that it is easy to find on the internet because if I looked through a dictionary it would take longer and it wouldn't be on my blog. The understanding of a suffix.

 

Today we did a DigitalLearningObject of what a suffix is, a suffix is a normal word but with a different ending so it doesn't mean the same or sound the same. I liked that it was easy because I knew what a suffix was. I hope that you enjoy what I have done for it or enjoyed, goodbye.

Yesterday and today I have been doing some math problems and math quizzes. I liked that I tried my best and it was easy because I enjoy math and I am good at it. Word of the week.

 

Today I have been doing my word of the week and this is what I have done for it today. I liked that I already knew what it meant because it made it a lot easier to do and I tried my best. I hope that you enjoy or did enjoy it. I don't know what to write for my didn't like so I didn't write that down.

Why we want solar panels at school.

I am Curtis Turner, and I am writing to you about why we should have solar panels at Paroa School. 

I think we should have solar panels at school because It helps the environment even though it uses more money but some people can make them cheaper. it helps the environment because it absorbs energy, from the sun and the clouds and you have to pay for the solar panels once so it all eventually adds up. 

Solar panels cost around $17,000 each or for two solar panels, I'm not quite sure how many. Solar panels can be cheaper but it depends on what company you buy them from. some schools have solar panels on their roofs but we will be the first on the west coast.

To cover the main 3 roofs and power the school we will need 47 solar panels at our school. We would need to fundraise a lot of money but eventually, it will work. We would still need the wifi obviously because that can't be powered by solar panels.

In conclusion I beleive that we should have solar panels so please think about it happening.

Today we have been writing letters to the pta and this is what I have written down, I hope that if you are reading this and you are apart of the pta you can do this for us. I liked that I had a couple of ideas so that made it a little bit easier. I didn't like that I had to think for a while because some of this I made off of my head.

Solar panels and the cardboard map.

 

For the last 2 weeks, we have been making a couple slides and a map of our school. I liked that it was Harry, Jesse, and I so that we could finish it faster and make it better than we probably would of and, I tried my best. I didn't like that it took so long for me to do it. I hope you enjoy or did enjoy what I made and wrote down with my friends that wanted to help me with the project and the ones that actually came to school. I learned that solar panels are $17,000 and the solar panels use around 1.7 to 1.8 kilowatts or kw which is short for kilowatts. I also learned that to power our school with solar panels, we would need 47 solar panels which is a lot of money and solar panels.

Energy.

 

For the past two weeks, we have been researching how Tokelau gets their energy from that far away. I liked that it was easy and I tried my best next I will have a cardboard map of my school unless I don't finish it in time. I didn't like that it took me longer than I thought because some people are already done so I have been pretty bored because I wanted to do the cardboard creation stuff.

Energy.

 How do wind and the sun affect your daily life? The sun affects your daily life by giving you light and some people power. The wind affects your daily life by being able to fly a kite.

What activities do you do that engage the energy of the sun and wind?

I go outside and play with my dog by throwing a bone or a dog toy for her. I also go to the beach and feel the breeze when it is really hot so I don’t faint.

He influences me by making me want to try bodyboarding because the waves he makes look cool and fun to bodyboard on.

This week we have been researching more energy stuff. I liked that we had a book to read off of. I didn't like that it was hard to find the stuff I wanted to wright down.

Today and yesterday we have been researching the hottest and coldest place in the world and what the temperatures are. I liked it because I learned brand new stuff about the world.

Capture the flag.

How to play capture the flag. To play capture the flag you need the equipment, a set of rules, and a certain amount of players.

The rules to capture the flag. The rules to capture the flag are you need 6+ or 4+ players in each team, the teams need to be fair, to make it more fun to play you might want 6+ players in each team. You can hide the cone/flag/stone but you have to be able to see it so that it is fairer but you could change the rules so you can make it invisible.

Equipment for capture the flag. You need two cones/flags or stones, and 12+ or 8+ players in total. 

Relating to others. DLO

DLO stands for, digital learning object, and this is a DLO that we did today. I liked that I knew a lot which made it easier. I didn't like that I have a really sore stomach which made it a tiny bit harder for me.

This is my word of the week. I liked how it was easy and I already knew what the word meant. I didn't like that it was hard to find a good photo.

5th continent/North America.

Last week and this week we have been doing facts about the North American continent it was really hard but it was kin of easy since we only had to look for a couple of facts. I liked searching for facts. I disliked it because I was sad at the time so I didn't do much and I normally do a lot of stuff.
