Summer learning journey.

Today we have done another summer learning journey teaser activity. I liked that it was easy because you just need to control c the pattern but make your own actual pattern. I didn't like that I had to control c so much for the pattern I did.

Today we have done teaser summer learning journey activities and we will be doing more for the rest of the week and then some people will be doing the actual summer learning journey. I liked that one half was kind of easy but I didn't like that the other half was kind of hard and I had to keep going in between different slides every time I had to do one part of slide 6.

what are the hottest and coldest places in the world.

Today and yesterday we have been researching the hottest and coldest place in the world and what the temperatures are. I liked it because I learned brand new stuff about the world.

Capture the flag instructions.

 

For a couple of weeks now we have been making videos on how to play games of their choice and I have been working on making this capture the flag video. I liked that it was fun and kind of easy to do because you just have to write the rules and then play it. I didn't like that the editing took kind of long to do because I tried my best to do it.

This week we have been reading a book and answering some of the questions. I liked that it was kind of easy and I tried my best to do it. I didn't like that it somehow took me a whole week.

Capture the flag.

How to play capture the flag. To play capture the flag you need the equipment, a set of rules, and a certain amount of players.

The rules to capture the flag. The rules to capture the flag are you need 6+ or 4+ players in each team, the teams need to be fair, to make it more fun to play you might want 6+ players in each team. You can hide the cone/flag/stone but you have to be able to see it so that it is fairer but you could change the rules so you can make it invisible.

Equipment for capture the flag. You need two cones/flags or stones, and 12+ or 8+ players in total.

Every Tuesday or Wednesday we do a quiz and today one question was this one so the teacher told us to research this question and this is what I have done. I liked that I tried my best so I felt kind of good when I finished. I didn't like that I couldn't do any better since there was not much that I could find.

Coral reefs.

The coral reefs are spread all throughout the world and have a lot of beautiful fish living in them, for example, clownfish, cardinalfish, angelfish, and more. I enjoyed that it was easy to do, and I didn't like that I for some reason couldn't find much information.

Relating to others. DLO

DLO stands for, digital learning object, and this is a DLO that we did today. I liked that I knew a lot which made it easier. I didn't like that I have a really sore stomach which made it a tiny bit harder for me.

Today we have been researching Alfred Nobel.

I liked how it was easy enough for me to do.

I didn't like that I couldn't find much information otherwise I would have done more.

sportsmanship

This week we have been writing about sportsmanship. I liked that I knew what a lot of good sportsmen do and act. I didn't like that it was bad because I don't know too much about sportsmanship.

For the last few weeks now my group has read a big book and we have done these activities. I Didn't like that I forgot a lot and I had to just go through the pages when I found something. I liked that I didn't have to read it all again and I only had to just go through the pages.

I liked that some of the facts are what I already knew so it made it a little bit easier. I didn't like that I couldn't improve it much because there weren't many facts that I could find.

Camp recount

 For camp, we went to bridge valley because there are only two different camps that we could go on and instead of wellington we went to bridge valley. The people in my cabin were Luke, Slade, Harrison, Kohen, Harry, Jari, and I. We got to camp by driving in vehicles but others went in vans. I felt terrible because I get homesick really bad sometimes but this time I was just homesick. It was kind of fun compared to how I thought it was going to be like. My three favorite parts were kayaking, laser tag, and abseiling. I only liked abseiling because I didn't have to do it. I liked the laser tag because it was just really fun. I liked kayaking because I have done it before so I also found it pretty easy. I also have my own laser tag at home so that is why I was better than some people. I think I would rather the kayaks with lower sides so that the paddle doesn't keep whacking the side. 

I liked that it was in my book so I could just copy straight off it so it was easy. I didn't like it because when I had to write it in my book it was kind of hard to think about what I wanted to write about. We went to camp 2 weeks or more ago.

Refugee camps.

 People are fleeing their countries because they have to or it isn’t safe enough at their countries. Last year there were 25,590 people in the refugee camp that is in Greece. People leave because there are shooting and people being killed. People mostly only live in refugee camps because they are forced so sometimes people don’t even want to live in refugee camps. 

Refugee camps can be dangerous because they may or may not have access to 1st aid kits or the hospital as they are in a camp so people can get really sick and not get saved which will be really sad especially if their family is there and it’s only him or her that get them sick. 

Some people can get bullied which is pretty mean because they get abused or they can get made fun of. 

Sadly enough refugees have to leave people and pets they loved such as cats dogs children families. Luckily enough people get to go back to their countries once they are safe. In 2019 70.8 million people were living in refugee camps.

On Friday we have done writing and facts about the refugee camps throughout the world. I liked that I got all of my information pretty much straight away. I didn't like that it was kind of hard because I didn't know what to search for.

Japan

 Japan is made up of lots of different islands. Japan is in East Asia and borders the Pacific Ocean. Celebrations. The largest holiday is not Christmas it is New Year's. New Year's is when the Japanese celebrate the gods they believe in. Traditional sports in Japan. Japan's traditional sports are sumo and karate. Sumo is when people fight but they only slam into each other instead of deliberately punching each other. Karate is when people do hand movements to block or to fight people. In karate, they can also use their feet.

Today and maby for the next few weeks we will be doing this but for now we have only done this. I liked this because I could come with a lot of predictions on what could happen in this book. I didn't like that the book is going to take ages to read because I can see and I know that the book is big.

Volts.

 

Today we have been exploring the current, voltage, and how it works. Current is the way that electron moves through the circuit which activates and deactivates the light. Voltage is the force that makes the electrical current. The table that we all made is what we used so that we can record the results otherwise it can get confusing. We found out our results by making the light thing and then checking if it works and then what we think it will be like if it is bright we can just say it is bright or something like that. I made those predictions because that is just what I thought because anything can be big or small so the small amounts are what I thought would be big.

The creek.

I wonder if the creek is healthy.

I think… 

I think That the creek is pretty stable in my opinion. I think that the creek is healthy just by the way it looked and all the healthy animals that were in the creek. 

How did you do? 

We did good and we had a good look at the creek and its bugs that live there. 

What did you use? 

We used a bucket that had tape at the bottom so that you could see through. We used a periscope which is a thing that you look into and it has mirrors so that you can put it under the water and you can see underwater. 

What did you find out? 

We found a lot of things like how the bugs survive under rocks and under the gravel. We also found out that there isn’t a lot of rubbish in there.

On Monday we all went down to the creek near our school and checked what was living in their how fast the stream was going and all that cool stuff. The cool thing is that it was just fun and it was something I have never done before. The one thing I didn't like about it was that it was kind of hard.

Interesting facts.

Yesterday we were doing some facts about the earth. I liked doing it because it was something new/something we have not done before. I didn't like that when I couldn't find any facts it was hard.

narrative writing.

Once there was a guy named Dr inspector guy,
as you can tell by his name he likes inspecting things but he also likes making/building things,
so then one day he tried to make an unbreakable bubble so guess what he did he made the bubble.
He found it hard but as you know he still made the bubble. But one day he wanted to go in it to see
what it was like but he got stuck in the bubble then a breeze came and pushed him into the ocean.
He was having fun in the bubble for a little bit because he saw new animals and stuff plus he also
saw some awesome shipwrecks, He even found some treasure in one of them. He got really scared
because he had seen a shark “I mean if you saw a shark you would be scared as well alright back to
the story” the shark was hungry and he was mad but he saw a hook in him he wanted to help but without
getting hurt so he caught a fish and gave it to the shark to distract him. The bubble popped after
he saved the shark so it lifted up and he flew back to shore. THE END.

For the last couple of days, we have been trying to write a narrative and this is my narrative.
I liked how once I had an
idea it was easier/easy. I didn't like that it was really hard when I didn't have an idea.

5th continent/North America.

Last week and this week we have been doing facts about the North American continent it was really hard but it was kin of easy since we only had to look for a couple of facts. I liked searching for facts. I disliked it because I was sad at the time so I didn't do much and I normally do a lot of stuff.

Water worries

Water worries, information.

People CAN NOT wastewater or we will all eventually run out of water.
People think that a glass of water is a precious resource and thing because they are starting to run out
of water. In New Zealand, our problem with water is that it was getting polluted. Our other problems
are that the pollution of our water and water supply lackage has only just started but luckily Greymouth
is not on a water supply lackage and we have quite a bit of water otherwise that would have been really
really bad. We get our water from all kinds of places, for example, rivers, lakes, springs, streams, and
rainwater off of the roof. Other important water sources are groundwater but we may not see it even
though it is there, but the water is actually going underground is why we don’t see it and the plants are
drinking the water to live and give us oxygen to breathe and live.

Today and a little bit of yesterday we had to do our maths and literacy medals to get golden time,
golden time is a special treat that you can get if you do everything, golden time is 20-60 minutes long of
free time.

literacy

To past self.

When I heard of lockdown I was scared yet happy because
I thought we wouldn’t be able to go outside but I was happy because
we only had to do the 2 things a day which some of them were easy and
I could have breaks. Once I had finished them I could sit down and chill.

Today at school I had troubles and it was kinda hard but I was doing it and
giving it a go. yesterday/Tuesday I was having trouble then as well but I did it some
of it was easy Monday tho. As level 4 started I got a little bit worried because of
COVID-19 as you all might know. I was in lockdown with my Mum, my Dog,
and a little bit with my Dad. I got to see my grandma a little bit because we
needed her to get us some shopping.

today I have done my literacy medals because I want golden time and if you didn't read the caption below golden time is 30 minutes of free time I really want free time because otherwise, I have to do work while other people that have done their work are having free time.

maths

This week our class has been doing literacy and maths medals we got to choose what we did each day but we had to do both a day if we wanted golden time. I am trying hard to get golden time. golden time is 30 minutes of free time. I liked doing it all because it was a little bit easy yet a little hard but I know what the arrow things are so I might have an advantage because some people don't get what the arrows are.

I am grateful for

I am grateful for my family because they raised me and gave me my dog that I have, all the toys I have, PlayStation4, and Xbox360. I am also grateful for all my toys, my dog, my PlayStation, and my Xbox.

Today I have been doing the blog contract my class has and I chose what I was grateful for.
I disliked doing it because I only just got to sleep at 1:30 am the other night so it was hard to think.

If I won lotto

If I had won the lotto I would pay all the homeless I see $1,000 and I would pay the homeless shelters $5,000 then I would buy a mansion and 3 cars one a Porsche, one my Mum's favorite car, and the other my Dad's, favorite car because I support my family. And I would give the rest of my family $5,000 plus my Mum and Dad $5,000. and then with the rest, I would buy a dog so that my dog Bella can have a friend. Then I would buy some ps4 games to play.
